The partnership will connect customers with borderless digital gifting solutions across 180+ countries.
Sydney, Australia, 11 June 2025 – Prezzee, a global leader in digital gifting and payments, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with UnionPay International, a global payment brand accepted in 183 countries and regions. The document was signed by Benoit Garnaud, Prezzee’s Chief Product Officer, and Ms. Shao Min, Vice President of UnionPay International South Pacific Region, at a signing ceremony in Shanghai. The Chairman of Prezzee, Shaun Bonett, and the CEO of UnionPay International, Mr. Wang Lixin, were also in attendance. The signing of this MOU brings together UnionPay International’s unmatched global acceptance network with Prezzee’s innovative and user-centric digital gifting technology to deliver secure, seamless and sustainable gifting solutions to consumers and businesses worldwide.
“This is a defining moment in Prezzee’s global growth journey,” said Benoit Garnaud, Chief Product Officer at Prezzee. “Together with UnionPay International, we’re not just expanding reach, we’re connecting cultures, empowering local businesses, and offering the kind of intuitive, borderless payment solutions today’s global consumers expect. This partnership strengthens financial ties between Australia, Asia, and the world.”

Enabling global connections
With over 140 million eGift cards sold globally, Prezzee continues to redefine how people gift, shop, and connect. The partnership will connect UnionPay’s unmatched global acceptance network with Prezzee’s curated global eGift card marketplace, providing customers with a seamless, secure, and sustainable gifting experience. Whether sending a digital gift to family abroad or supporting a favourite local brand while travelling, customers will now have access to a streamlined, mobile-first solution that bridges physical distance across the globe through meaningful digital exchanges. Together, the two parties will integrate their respective strengths and resources to collaborate in areas such as prepaid card issuance, including gift cards, and joint marketing. In the initial phase, they plan to launch UnionPay-branded digital prepaid card products in markets such as Australia and New Zealand, and carry out joint marketing campaigns to effectively promote consumer acquisition and usage.
“We’re seeing a strong shift toward digital, particularly among Gen Z consumers. This partnership ensures we continue to lead in innovation, providing accessible, sustainable gifting solutions to everyone, from Australian shoppers to global travellers”, Garnaud added.

Unlocking Borderless Commerce
As governments and businesses reignite tourism, trade, and cross-border commerce, this partnership delivers scalable, secure payment solutions that benefit consumers, communities and economies. The partnership also has strong economic and social implications. For international visitors, it simplifies gifting and payments with local merchants via UnionPay International. For Australians, it enables easy, secure digital gifting to loved ones overseas, removing friction and bringing people closer together through technology.
